Merry Christmas !!
Today marks Dada Beteille’s 13th day of chemotherapy. He receives transfusions almost every other day, which is part of the protocol. After each transfusion, he typically feels much better. While eating, drinking, and walking are still challenging, he perseveres with active encouragement from Minnie. She spends most nights at the hospital, by his side. His showers are essential, but they follow a strict protocol to prevent bacteria from entering his heart through the PICC line (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter). Minnie ensures she’s present to assist with this process every day.
For the next few weeks, we’ll have to wait and see how he fares. So far, he’s holding up well enough for the treatment to continue under the watchful eyes of the incredible nurses and doctors. We are especially grateful for the dedication of the nurses and doctors working the Christmas shift, away from their loved ones, while the rest of the world rests.
